Dear lovelies,
I have moved from Multiply to Blogger.
Lets link up!
- Al-Imran,110 this may not come of as a good news for smokers but let's watch this with an open mind considering it is supported with facts from Quran and Science.\

Sebelum saya mula, baik diletakkan "DISCLAIMER" terdahulu.
Today I feel like changing fonts for my next post.
So which font is pleasant for reading?
I wouldn't know until I play around with it.
Some are nice in BOLD while some are not.
Some looks good in ITALIC while some are not.
And worse still I am just using the fonts provided in the drop down list by Multiply.
So I only have a few to choose from.
This may sound like a boring or a silly post but this is my space, its up to me.

-By Punggol Mosque Building Committee Peace be upon my fellow Muslim,
If you have missed yesterday's launch or may not have been informed about anything related to smartphone apps from Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS), here's something you may want to look out for which I thought might be useful especially we are welcoming Ramadhan.
Yesterday, in collaboration with Ramadhan Youth Council and some geniuses in IT, it has successfully launched the "OfficeOfTheMufti" & "iZakat.SG" app for Singaporeans Muslims as we are embarking on the usage of new media whereby information is accessible anywhere, anytime.
OfficeOfTheMufti - web based application which provides information like Imsakiah, Prayer Times, Friday sermons and Fatwas are easily accessible here.
iZakat.SG - web based calculator application whereby one can input the numbers to calculate the zakat for various sources of funds/monies acquired. Very useful tool on the go.
These apps are not available on the App Store at the moment but can be added to your Smartphones' (iPhone, Androids, BlackBerry) Home Screen through the web browser.
I have therefore created a simple Step-by-Step video on how you can acquire this app on your smartphone. Hope it is useful.
Let us welcome Ramadhan! May all of you be in good health.
Assalamualaikum. I am sure you have heard articles lately on our local newspapers regarding the emergence of Obedient Wives Club or in short, OWC, across the island. In its latest attempt of polluting the minds of our locals here, this indecent organization has numerous attempts which have gladly failed so far.
So who are they and what are they up to?
In case some of you have totally no idea who OWC is, well here's a little bit of introduction.
It came to existence in Malaysia less than 5 years ago and its widespread across the various states has been worrying the people due to its vast differences in practice and religious belief on how to "take care" of men such that they will not go astray with some other women and stay loyal to his wife by indulging into sex practices.
And can you believe, this group has "Wawasan 2020" in mind. And I quote :
"Our aim is to promote a move forwards into the 21st Century and this will entail introducing some radical new approaches to Malaysian sexuality."
Take a look at one of the patrons, a Doctorate, mind you and her name is Rohaya Mohamad. If you look through the contents of the blog, you would not have thought that it was posted by this err... so called doctor. But looking at the posts, if you allow to me to be judgemental for one second, I think she's one "Desperate Housewife."
She claimed she's doing it for the good of Muslim women; so their husbands won't go astray and start playing around behind their back.
Is she so obsessive about sex? Is that really a one and only factor which causes husbands to go astray?
And I quote :
"A man married to a woman who is as good or better than a prostitute in bed has no reason to stray."
Its shameful that she regards fellow Muslim women with prostitutes; yes, women on the back alley where we commonly refer them to as "hookers."
Where has the value of a Muslimah gone to by comparing them with these women? What will the non-Muslims think and what kind of impression is she trying to create to the people?
Its ridiculous to be publishing all these contents on your blog just to force people into believing your way of seeing things. Its going to have a big implication on the minds of others. Wake up your idea old woman, before your husband start to go stray on you for being such a whimp.

Recent events in Egypt has swarmed the headlines over the world over the political stability of the country. The man who has been in command, President Hosni Mubarak is currently under scrutiny by his own people.
Protests rallied across the streets of Cairo, which led to violence causing deaths and serious injuries have been a major concern affecting the Middle East and the security of its neighbors. To make things worse, countries such as Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan and now Yemen are facing an uprise over what had happened in Egypt.
So, what has this been uprising all about? How will it affect the political stability in the Middle East. Let's look through.
We have noticed over in the Middle East, most of the countries are being ruled for decades by a person or down the family. Now, with Egypt starting to overthrow the government, it has raised eyebrows over the world on the state of the country once a new government takes place.
Many wonder if reformation is the best solution to change the political state of a country and the lives of people. I would agree to some point it is. We have witnessed Tunisia demand the whole government to be replaced and now its happening in Egypt and more other Arab nations to follow.
Foreign media has been very supportive of this reformation however, its disappointing that they potray it in manner to oust the 'dictator'. It has been misunderstood by the world which will create the ideology of removing what they love to label it as 'terrorism' within the region.
I believe that this reform is to rediscover the Arab region and bring the glory days back where their religious belief is concerted and ensuring peace and stability. One nation that would be threatened by this move would perhaps be Israel, the only nation surrounded by the Arab region. Security has been enhanced across the border fearing strikes may occur.
As for the Arabs, it's time to quickly form the fresh government, reinstate the spirit of the Middle East so as not to be treated like a "puppet" by the influence of the West. Back to life, back to reality. We are aware that as the years gone by, letting your money grow in the Central Provident Fund(CPF) may not be able to sustain every working Singaporean's retirement income when they decide to call it a day.
Many opportunities in the local as well as the global market allows us to grow our assets in order to accumulate for our golden years upon retirement. Every Singaporean will eventually come to retirement at an average age of 65.
With an average income of $2,500, how much can a Singaporean accumulate to be able to sustain a decent income when they decide to call it a day?
The problem with some of us Singaporeans is we do not receive sufficient education in order to generate informed decisions with regards in accumulating their money. Generally, we would dump our money into banks through fixed deposits and endowment without realizing that the returns that they could potentially generate could be insufficient.
So why aren't we investing our money on other available financial instruments? The reason is simple - we DARE NOT take risks. Every financial sound person will know that risk goes relatively with returns. The higher the risk, the more potential the returns are and vice versa.
So why are we not taking the risks? Simply because we are nurtured to be a conservative in nature and dare not venture our limits.
Read the article and you will know there's so much more things to look forward, more importantly, know what to do with your CPF to accumulate wealth if you do not have the cash to invest. Remember folks, CPF is not solely designed to buy houses, education for you and family.
It can do more than just that if you know how to. Happy reading! Its from the edition of Business Times on 30 December 2010.
Happy New Year everyone! Selamat tahun baru! feliz año nuevo
In whichever way we are saying it, i'm sure the whole world means the same thing - wishing everyone a great 2011.
So, how did 2010 sum up? I hope everyone had a great ending no matter what had happen within that 365 days.
Personally, it has been a year of 'controversy'. Still remembered how powerful "Social Network" is and it doesn't show any signs of decline. Fascinating inventions to technology are making whatever that appeared in your imagination before come true and what not. Trust me, you will see new perspective to the 3D and communication devices. (watch this space)
I still remembered how 'much' a blogger I am. Each of my post probably came online err... within a space of 3 months? Thats how much I blog peeps. So what's controversial? It was none other than that little post I had in 2010 about that kid. It was none other than an exciting thing to blog about but getting unwanted attention was not I was asking for. At the end of the day, I had mixed reactions from the public. Well that's pretty normal.
So what's in store for 2011? Maybe less controversial? Haha. We shall see if my fingers get a little bit evil then before. So emotional aside, let's all welcome this year with a positive head start. I came across several blogs and most of them bear the same mood - EMO.
Can we have a change to this in 2011? You want to be EMO all the time, blog is not the best place to do it. Head down to the nearest POPULAR book store in your neighbourhood and go grab a Personal Diary okay?
Cheers to 2011 everyone! | Hit | Sep 28, '10 12:40 PM for everyone |
Hello once again, everyone! My latest blog post received a lot of hits today. I really didn't expect for someone who rarely blogs like myself, could attain such "visitors" today. Thank you so much for all the differing views shared throughout all the social networks and not to forget, our very own hot sizzling portal, STOMP Singapore. I'm aware that I cannot please everyone with that post so I'm always ready for views from our very local people as well! I do know that its always 50-50 when it comes to "with you" / "against you" for that post and I'm not taking any sides here. To those who are against it, that's your problem. Some of the netizens even spoke to me about someone hitting me back with call names. Just can't be bothered. "Nasi tambah?" What you did was, you just did a "nasi tambah" for/on me. Simply don't understand some would get so enraged over something which do not concern them unless err... it must have been their same kind or whatsoever you call it. Your blog URL says it all that you're one of them. Haha. This is getting hilarious. And I wanna thank you for that little "compliment" for me on your blog post. Thats so sweet of ya... =) Never thought that the previous post had to do anything with religion which some people deemed it was; perhaps it was just a matter of respect. Less the religion, which was already out of context, we are after all Asians and being Malay (i'm so proud to be one), our rich culture and tradition promotes respect for others. Imagine putting on such outfits for visiting, for example, how would the elders react? Those comments shared today comes from all the various races; and not all understand the true values of each race. So I'll leave it to you to understand and analyze. Till then. Adios. =) In a world where business is getting more competitive, some big companies are just getting a little too complicated and complacent. SingTel - a leading telco provider in Singapore, provided me with the most disappointing service ever. What looked like simple procedures turned out to be a complicated one which I believe I am not just the only customer left feeling super duper frustrated. Somewhere end July and early August, I registered my interest in iPhone4. Eventually, when its first batch was launched for reservation early August at about 2pm, the whole system got jammed up. I couldn't login to do my reservation on a working day; ended up having to attempt a few logins and only had a successful login at about 4pm. However, it stated reservation was full and I had to wait for the next batch. Seriously, wth. After the second batch was released, I head down to Hello! at ComCentre, Somerset and did a manual booking of iPhone4 at the counter itself. I was informed that it would be a month before stocks would be available and though it was fair enough the phone was ready for collection after 2 weeks, this was where the whole procedures which were meant to be simple yet were been made so complicated for the customer. I could still recall the trainee who served me, informed that I would be collecting my iPhone4 at the centre itself and it would be after a notification call from the Customer Service Officer. However, things did not turn out as it should have been. On the 25th August 2010, I received a text from SingTel which read: "From SingTel : <ADV> Dear customer, your iPhone4 32GB (black) reservation is now available for purchase by visiting www.singtelshop.com/invitation within the next 24 hrs. Stocks are limited! Alternatively, we will retain your reservation and a sales rep will contact you for collection at hello! shop. Thanks for your patience. " So, from this SMS, as a customer, I understand there are TWO options given to me. Either I log on to that website to make an ONLINE purchase or wait for the sales rep to call me to inform me of the collection at hello! shop. Right? I did not want to do it online as I preferred to clear doubts, if any, with the sales rep. Furthermore, I do not understand why iPhone4, known for a having technicality problems upon its launch, to be purchased and delivered this manner. What if a customer like myself, would want to check the phone and clear my doubts? Do I have to jam up the Customer Care hotline? What kind of service is this? No personal touch at all. Guess what, NO calls were received from any of the sales rep until after this past Monday. This call was even more frustrating. An "online" sales rep named "Maria" called and informed me to book my available slots for HOME delivery the next day. I was like wondering when did I opt for that option. Even if I had, I would have to log on the website and confirm which I did not at all. The conversation with Maria became more frustrating as it turned out to be that she was trying to dictate what I should choose with regards to the collection of my iPhone4. I could feel she was starting to get agitated which she was not supposed to. She ordered me to try head down to the shop itself and check out myself if I could do the purchase there. I agreed with her that I would be heading down since I was in town and informed her to call me back at 2.30pm sharp and that my slot would be pending. The staff at hello! shop even communicated to me after a 20 minute wait that I was not able to purchase my phone from the shop itself as they do not bring in any iPhone 4 stock. (Come on, ComCentre is your main outlet and you're telling there's no stock?!) This fella' even told me that the "online" team did not have an office or a centre and they were agents whereas, Maria, claimed they are SingTel staff!! Inconsistent information! So, the phone was not available. It was claimed to be "out-of-stock." 3.00pm passed by and still no news from Maria. Excuse me, its a working day and I do not have much time to play this waiting game. Wth. When she eventually called, she said the allocated slot was already taken up when its not supposed to be and told me I could only arrange for a Wednesday delivery. That angered me much. Got involved in a heated exchange with sales rep Maria, customer service officers Fritz and Nash. Fritz was very helpful and always checking on the status. However, as for Nash, he almost lost his cool in handling a simple query from me. He even came to the point of "threatening" that my reservation would be cancelled for good and this really angered me alot. I demanded for the supervisor to be contacted. So, the day ended with no progress made. On Tuesday morning, Maria called again. She mentioned that if I wanted to be slot in my preferred timing which is 9am-10am, I would have to pay a fee of $25. I was like - "What?! I don't think I'm paying!" I mean why the heck I should pay for? Isn't that a service from SingTel since the timings was still within the allocated time? And what on earth makes you think that customers would be mostly available on such slots provided on a working day? We are not paid to wait for SingTel to deliver to the house. Idiot. Now, the whole procedure was already becoming more dictated by SingTel. Very disappointing indeed. I was very frustrated and so, I agreed for it to deliver to my home according to their timings. Confirmed the order on the phone. Everything done and settled. However in the evening, a hello! shop sales rep called and told me my iPhone4 was ready for collection. I was like "What?!". Now there's two person calling me to confirm my purchase. The other one of course, Maria. Now, it got me thinking if they actually communicated and updated the status of my purchase. Looked as if they did not and probably I would end up having 2 sets of iPhone4, right? Since I have been called up to collect my phone at the shop on Tuesday, it would be a better option since my workplace is in town and that I need not wait for Wednesday home delivery. Now, seriously, what is SingTel trying to implement with regards to the purchase of iPhone4? Starhub and M1 allows you to just walk in to the shop to make purchase though we understand is subjected to availability. But why must SingTel go through this hassle? If SingTel thought that this would cut the long queues at the shop, then I would say its a MAJOR FAILURE. Customers like myself get frustrated at how this whole process was handled. I head down last evening to collect my phone. It was a SUPER DUPER long wait. Estimated to be 45 mins the most, it ended up more than an hour wait. Finally, a sales rep named "Allia" attended and she was very helpful and warm in its customer service. Thankfully, it was not another bad officer attending to me. Ironically, she had told me that she had to cancel my Home Delivery scheduled this morning since I came to the shop for collection. Now it got me to thinking, they finally COMMUNICATED!!! Haha. They could have lessen the trouble by COORDINATING it right from the start to ease this purchase but they chose not to! Silly! I already wanted to write in and publish such poor service by SingTel on the papers. VERY DISAPPOINTING and POOR customer experience. Well, just watch this space. Early this week, Singapore found out on the arrest of a former alumnus Raffles Institution, Abdul Malik. His remarks posted on Facebook had got him arrested by the authorities here. According to reports, his remarks were spotted by a police investigating officer thus lodged a report to arrest him. This sparked a mixed reaction from the Netizens as well as the public themselves with how this whole saga was dealt with by the authorities. Based on newspaper reports, Netizens are clearly unimpressed by authorities' actions to produce an arrest warrant against this poor chap. So did he deserve the punishment? Now the question boils down to the way the nation is being run by none other than our very own government. First, unlike America, we are not a country which promotes "freedom of speech" or should I say we lack that. Afterall, we are Asians and we are known for being conservative about expressing our thoughts and feelings even for the better of ourselves. We always agree and keep things politically safe, indirectly limiting our mind from exploring more possibilities. With such culture, we jolly well know that such comments are deemed "harsh" by the government and it will not tolerate suchremarks from their own people in what they believe is to maintain "peace and harmony". Well, to some extent, it could be true but looking from the other perspective, I guess its silly to arrest someone judging based on what was written on a public wall in facebook. As for Abdul Malik, he's probably acting a little bit too smart and exercising his grip of English at the wrong place, the wrong time. I do not blame the authority fully on his arrest, but pity this poor chap since getting arrested will do harm to his future in Singapore. He might as well get out of this country. One of the Netizens, Kojaktbt has demanded the authorities an explanation on Abdul Malik's arrest and the significance of having an independent body to account for the authorities misconduct. Expect MPs to be busy probing the Law Minister to come out and clear the air thus explain the reasons for his arrest. Read article here. To the neutrals like myself, let's just watch this space. Perhaps, having a good grip of English is not really a factor to stop someone from getting arrested for such comments. Well, this is Singapore afterall. As for the suggestion to have an independent body to account for misconduct of the authorities, I support that idea. Peace.
